With $100K in racer contingency cash up for grabs this year, Yamaha 4-strokers may soon be the ride of choice for racers on the United States Cross Country snowmobile racing circuit. "We feel the growing USCC circuit is a great way to showcase our 4-stroke performance under extreme conditions," said Yamaha's Race Manager Greg Marier. Last year Yamaha offered USCC drivers $86,000 in contingency money, so this is a sizeable increase in funds.
Yamaha now has both a strong racer support program, which allows eligible racers to buy a Nytro or Phazer from a dealer at a special price, and a hefty contingency prize money program. The Red Lake 500 cross-country race is one of the places Yamaha hopes to shine this year.
To qualify for the cash, racers must compete with an ISR class-legal '07 or newer Yamaha, featuring model specific stock-appearing hood with factory color and graphics.
