midseason polaris 700

The rumors have been swirling that a hotter Polaris XC 700 would be coming. Expect to see a 700cc twin cylinder, single pipe model with Polaris' Variable Exhaust System at Polaris dealerships sometime before Christmas. There will be a very limited build (a few hundred) rolling off the Roseau (Minnesota) assembly lines in early December.

Most likely these limited quantity 700s will be given to dealers as incentives for taking on a few extra of slower selling models. We would imagine that these models will be hard to get this season.

However, this mid-season addition to the Polaris sport sled line-up indicates that the VES should be standard fare on selected 2002 Polaris 700s for next season. That suggests that such 700 VES models will be early order models this coming spring. And available next fall as well.

You knew it was a matter of time before the VES made it to the 700 twin. The Polaris 500 and 600 twins have such systems already. You know the concept works and with Bombardier's similar RAVE standard on the high performance Ski-Doo 700, it only made sense for the Polaris crew to counter with a more competitive 700 of their own.

Of course, the next logical question is when will the 800 get such a treatment?
