The rumors were true, 2006 Pro Open and Pro Stock Champion Robbie Malinoski and his race team, Boss Racing have signed to race under the yellow and black colors of Ski-doo's race team. This is a multi-year deal that will secure Malinoski with Ski-Doo through 2010. An announcement of another Boss rider will likely be made soon as well.
Malinoski rode valiantly for Yamaha last year and surprised many by claiming the first #1 podium spot for a 4-stroke sled. However, Robbie is happy to be making the switch to Ski-doo and their veteran snocross program. "There's nothing I love more than mixing it up at the head of the pack with my buddies, like BlairMorgan, and taking the top spot of the podium," said Malinoski. "I'm stoked because racing the new REV-XP platform will let me do that again, every single heat and final. It was hard giving a 50 to 60 pound advantage to everyone else week after week."
This is Malinoski's third different manufacturer sponsor in three years. He has ridden for Cat, Yamaha, and now will be piloting Ski-Doo's new XP.
Other factory teams from Ski-Doo for 2008 include: Blair Morgan Racing Team, Warnert Racing, Harrison Racing, and D&Z Racing.
