Once all the snow had settled and the numbers crunched, we had a winner. Not by much, but the 800 RMK Vertical Edge came out the top 800 of this year's Powder Sled Playoffs. The Summit 800 X came in a close second, with the Mountain Cat 800 EFI nipping at its snow flap.
Just like the trail sled Port-A-Tree Shoot-Out we hold in New York, these results are for this day's ride and test session. We had crusted and packed snow in Utah. On a different day, with three feet of baseless powder, the results would probably change.
Again, we'd like to thank the local dealers- Cutler's Performance, Tri-City Polaris, Weller Recreation and Frandsen's Recreation- for bringing us some of the most highly-tuned stock consumer sleds we've ridden. If you're gong to ride in or around the Salt Lake City, Utah, area, these are the guys you want calibrating your machines. We also thank them for letting us pick their brains about what works and what doesn't in the mountains!
