In addition to the horses that Ski-Doo reined in, the 115 foot-pounds of torque this monster unleashes tops any current stock sled. Torque numbers held steady at over 110 ft-lbs. from 7100 rpm until the end of the pull. First time riders beware because Doo's black stallion will throw you straight back in the saddle!
When I wrote this I had put just more than 300 miles on our own semi-direct injected Mach Z test sled. The power is certainly no joke and only gets better after break-in. Even more impressive is that the sled complies with 2006 EPA regulations and rivals 4-strokes in quietness.
But this snow-rocket is not for the faint of heart, or for riders who refuse to muscle a sled around. All that dyno-proven power comes with added weight, which Ski-Doo lists at a contestable 519 lbs. With more power and weight than other REV models, those who ride the RT-platformed Mach this winter need to take extra care to respect safety regulations. Those who haven't picked up a new Mach, keep looking over your shoulder because Mr. Nasty is in town ... and gaining on you!
