Yamaha took the wraps off a complete 5-model Phazer-based lineup at its dealer meetings in Minneapolis today. It had previewed the sled to us earlier so we could get a taste of its abilities.
In addition to the base Phazer, which starts at $6,399, there are FX and GT models, plus a two-up Venture Lite and long-tracked Mountain Lite. All feature a short-beaked front end with a distinctly youthful profile. The engine is a two-cylinder derived from a Yamaha dirt bike and is roughly 500cc.
