hot yamaha rumors

We've talked to a couple of Yamaha dealers who indicate that there will be at least three hot new dirt machines sporting four-stroke engines for the next season.
Yamaha isn't talking, but the word is that there will be new YZ and WR 250F dirt bikes with high tech, lightweight four stroke engines inside. Our contacts indicate that the engine carries five titanium valves and tips the scales at less than some of its competitive 250 class two-strokers weigh. According to the dealers, the YZ 250F will outperform the 125 two-stroke bikes it is allowed to compete against on the AMA motocross circuits.
The third dirt machine has four wheels and a 660 five-valve, four-stroke engine. The new sport quad also is said to be light enough to jump on the track, but rugged enough to hit the gnarly woods.
With the rumored release of these three four-stroke sport machines, Yamaha is definitely letting the industry know that it can make the low emissions engine package at a light enough weight to satisfy the performance needs of its consumers.
If these rumors pan out, and we have every reason to believe they will, can a four stroke performance sled be too far down the trail? Time will tell!
