In Aspen/Snowmass, Colo., Tucker Hibbert won his second Winter X Games gold medal (186.226 sec.), his sixth medal overall.
Hibbert (Monster Energy Drink/Arctic Cat) took the lead in the Snocross event on the fifth circuit of the 18-lap final. He beat out Ryan Simons (Speedwerx/Arctic Cat) who came in second (186.543 sec.), after leading the first 5 laps of the final. This is the first Winter X Games medal for Simons. TJ Gulla (Pirtek/Polaris) earned his second bronze medal (192.684 sec.), coming in third. Carl Schubitzke finished fourth (193.087 sec.)
Hibbert returned to his Snocross roots this season, competing part-time on the WPSA PowerSports Snowmobile Tour. The Goodridge, Minn., native swept the most recent 2 rounds of the Tour's Pro Stock class, held at BIR. Though he failed to qualify for last year's Winter X Games Snocross final, he credits his experience on the Tour this season for the victory.
