With early-season snowfalls in northern Minnesota, it helped to provide a great snow-covered track for the WSA Black Magic Duluth National season opener snocross.
The Pro Stock class had Blair Morgan edging out Tucker Hibbert by a mere two feet for the win, according to a WSA press release. Noel Kohanski got past DJ Eckstrom for third, and Chris Vincent rounded out the top five.
The Pro Open final began with Hibbert in the back row due to qualifying in the last chance qualifier heat. Off the line, Morgan was in the lead, followed closely by Kent Ipsen. Hibbert closed his gap to third place by the third lap. Ipsen and Hibbert both passed Morgan to take first and second place in the fifth lap. Ipsen and Hibbert battled for the lead- and Hibbert prevailed to take the checkered flag. Ipsen came through at second and late in the race, Morgan's sled suffered a broken skid, Karl Allard came by for third, Morgan was fourth and Todd Wolff completed the top five.
