The Snowy Range in Wyoming is ranked among the best destinations for snowmobiling, but grooming will soon be changeing hands.
Due to contract problems, the State of Wyoming through the State Parks, Historic Sites and Trails Division under the Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources, will be taking over grooming of the more than 190 miles of groomed trails in the Snowy Range. Grooming operations will begin on Dec. 1. Brad Hill, trails manager, said they plan to groom the trails 6-7 nights per week depending on the location. He said they will be operating Tucker Sno-Cats equipped with compactor bars and Mogul Master multi-blade grooming drags.
The change is producing mixed reactions from dealers and folks in the area. Some feel they may just have to wait and see.
