grand opening of snowmobile hall of fame and museum addition

The Snowmobile Hall of Fame and Museum in St. Germain, Wis., will be having a grand opening Feb. 8, 2008 of its new museum addition. The 5,000 square foot addition to the campus includes the Warning Gallery and the Ramstad Center. The ribbon cutting will take place at 3 p.m. Along with the official opening will be the dedication of the Ramstad Library and Media Center named after CJ Ramstad, writer, publisher and co-founder of the Hall of Fame.

Karla Ramstad and their daughter Marly will be on hand to present the SHOF with CJ's prized vintage 1967 Arctic Cat Panther that he was so famous for riding in vintage rides. The snowmobile will be on permanent display in the Center along with his books, magazines and his award winning photo collection.

The Jim and Bernadine Warning family of New Lenox, Ill., will also participate in the grand opening ceremonies. The Warning's made a significant contribution to the new complex and many of their vintage snowmobiles will be displayed on a rotating basis. They are the owners of one of the sports largest and most valuable collections in the world.

The 25th annual Ride with the Champs by Modine HotDawg Garage Heaters will take place on Sat., Feb. 9, 2008, with registration at 7:30 a.m. at the Whitetail Inn, just west of the Hall of Fame on Hwy 70 in St. Germain. Riders return to the Whitetail Inn for the 6:00 p.m. autograph session and the induction banquet following at 7:00 p.m.

The 2008 inductees are Mr. Chris Twomey, President and CEO of Arctic Cat, Inc; Mr. Andy Baker, of the Canadian Power Toboggan Championships of Manitoba, Canada; Clayton Neuman (p), engineer, designer and racer; and CJ Ramstad (p).
