Great Wishbone
The front suspension is FAST's unequal length upper and lower wishbone design updated with Ryde FX shocks. The styling looks great from a "tech-head" viewpoint. It works very well from a functional and practical viewpoint.
One of the sled's strengths is its front end. The sled steers as though it has a power-assist - light, low effort turning. Unlike some other competitors, which get light steering at the expense of "grip," we found no weaknesses in the Blade HPO's front end.
The tapered C&A Pro skis stayed flat on the snow, gripped the trail firmly and securely whether we rode hot or warm through the turns of our groomed New Hampshire test trail. Front suspension rebound was negligible. We thought some of that may have come from previous setup by FAST's local dealer, Quint Boisvert, a former NASCAR race car builder who truly knows the importance of vehicles being able to "stick" in a turn. But, no. Quint assured us that the Blade HPO we were riding was factory-fresh with normal dealer setup.
