FAST, Inc., of Eveleth Minnesota, has announced two new Blade models for its 2001 lineup. In a conversation at Eagle River, David Karpik noted that there would be new engine options coming down the pipeline, but nothing was in granite. Now it is.

We will see a Blade 6x2 and a Blade 8x2 coming to the trails next winter. According to a statement released by FAST, the move was made to increase fuel economy. Like its larger brother, the 6x2 will sport a Polaris domestic twin. It is unclear at this time whether that engine will be the big block 600 or the VES 600. Consumers will also have the option of buying the Blade powered by the Polaris 800 domestic big twin.

Also noted in the release, consumers will have long track options of 136, 141 and 151 inches, with up to 2-inch lugs. Additionally, we can expect to see color options on the Blades in the next season.
