Polaris' 2004 model Frontier family of snowmobiles received certification for meeting Environmental Protection Agency emission requirements for 2006, two years ahead of the mandated requirements. The 2004 Frontiers are the first snowmobiles certified to the EPA's more stringent requirements.
Introduced in 2001 the Frontier features a block heater for easier cold-weather starting and closed-loop electronic fuel injection (EFI) induction to further reduce emissions. The four-stroke Frontier represents a cleaner, quieter alternative in snowmobiling.
"Environmental friendliness is a top priority for Polaris and that is underscored by how quickly we reached this distinction," said Tom Tiller, CEO, Polaris Industries. "We will continue to work proactively with government agencies to produce products which deliver both outstanding environmental performance and a terrific recreational experience."
