Ski-Doo's claims to have the lightest 600cc sports twin appear true. Our
Shoot-Out MXZ 600 weighed in at 536 pounds versus the Cat ZR 600 EFI at 539
pounds. Yamaha's triple cylinder, single pipe 600 SX weighed 546 pounds, a pound more than Polaris' Indy XC 600.

In the 700cc single pipe category, Yamaha and Polaris tied at 546 pounds each. The high output Ski-Doo MXZ 670 was the heavyweight at 555 pounds followed by Cat's new ZR 700.

Among the 700cc triple pipe models, weights were close. Yamaha's SRX 700 was lightest at 608 pounds, just barely under Ski-Doo's Mach 1. The Indy XCR 700 hit 624 pounds.

In the 800cc triple class, the Indy XCR 800 weighed in at 624 pounds (same as the XCR 700). Weighing slightly less were the 621-pound Arctic Cat ZRT 800 and the Ski-Doo Mach z.

All sleds were weighed with five gallons of fuel and equal amounts of traction pro.
