More than 2,000 snowmobile enthusiasts watched 14 stock sleds and 22 trail mods participate in the 9th annual American Snowmobiler Shoot-Out and 3rd Saber Trail Mod Invitational despite a lack of snow and unseasonably warm winter temperatures.
Held in Woodgate, NY, the Shoot-Out saw PSI Performance's Genesis-engined trail mod set an eigth-mile record at 114 miles per hour.
In the stock sled Shoot-Out Ski-Doo's high output MXZ proved to be a strong performer at virtually all checkpoints. But competition was close with some outcomes only determined by carrying data to the thousandth of a second or hundredth of a mile.
The Amsnow test staff is now on its way home and will ready final reports for Wednesday's midweek updates.
