Cat On Steroids
Under the hood, the custom Cat got a major steroid boost from D&D Performance of Lowville, NY. Essentially, the F5 engine compartment became the recipient of a D&D F-8 engine package designed to put out upwards of 165 horsepower with a twin pipe exhaust.

Briefly, the F-8 package consists of power valving featuring seven-transfer port double webbing design with triple exhaust ports. Pistons are D&D forged and the head is a D&D billet aluminum with changeable dome style head assembly. V-Force reeds and D&D's Bullseye air intakes are used on the induction side with D&D F-8 chrome pipes on the exhaust. The Mikuni carbs are bored to 41.7 and feature D&D custom needle jet.

To complete the powder pack, Gaudreau had D&D add the Big Dog clutch arms and spring in the primary with matched spring and cam on the secondary.

Bottom line, this sled not only looks unique, it can readily fend for itself on the trails. In a future issue, we'll have a treat for you Yamaha lovers.
