The WSA snocross at Grand Casino in Hinckley, Minnesota is on. Round two of the WSA Snocross World Wide event will happen, despite the lack of snow, There has been concern over the condition of the track, but instead of having to make tons of snow to create jumps, doubles and tabletops, the track has been built with a dirt base and then covered with snow.

With the help of snowmaking machines and some cold weather, more than adequate snow (about a 3-foot base) will be available for the expected 700 racers. Mother Nature may cooperate after all as temperatures have begun to fall and are expected to stay low through the weekend. There is also a chance of snow in the area, so the combination of the four snowmaking machines and the snow in the forecast, means the track should be in good shape.

"We've also hired trained snow making operators to make sure the machines are always running at their full output. The result will be a very small, intense, contained blizzard and we're going to make sure for all the guests, sponsors and competitors in attendance at Grand Casino, that it will be a white Christmas indeed," said WSA CEO Scott O'Malley.

Racing begins each day at 11am. The Pro 600 Final will be run at 3pm on Saturday and the Pro 440 and Open Finals starting Sunday at 1pm and 3pm respectively. Daily admission is $15, children 10 and under are free. Reserved heated seating is also available.

Round three of the WSA Snocross World Wide international tour will be January 2-3 at Crandon International Raceway.
