On Thursday, July 13th, 2000, congressmen Don Manzullo (R-IL) and Bart Stupak (D-MI) are scheduled to host a news conference to highlight the impact a snowmobile ban would have on businesses and communities around national parks.
The scope of the conference is to demonstrate how the ban will affect businesses and weaken the tax base of communities near the parks which depend on winter tourism. Small business owners and officials from Michigan, Illinois, South Dakota and Montana will speak at the conference.
If you're in the area, please plan to attend. News Conference on Proposed Snowmobile Ban, 1pm Thursday, July 13th, at the House Triangle in Washington D.C. (southeast lawn of Capitol). Rain location is 2360 Rayburn, the House Small Business Committee hearing room.
