Several class changes are taking place for the Northeast Grass Drag Series and Eastern Snowmobile Productions 2003 Pro race season. For one, four new Super Stock Twin classes will replace the N.A. Improved Twin classes. The Super Stock Twin classes will follow the same basic rules as the ISR Improved stock classes, but some differences exist in the refinements and weight breaks categories. Minimum driver and sled weights are as follows:
SS Twin 600….650 lbs.
700….675 lbs.
800….700 lbs.
1000...725 lbs.
Other rules are as follows:
+Long track kits are allowed if they are OEM parts purchased at a dealer
+Like engine in its brand chassis, must be within 10 years of manufacture
+Aftermarket cylinders are allowed
+Externally modified crankcases are allowed
+Maximum overbore of 2 percent over class cc limit; 5 percent in 1000 class
+ISR approved clutch guards and tunnel enclosures mandatory
+Sled movement from stock classes (Pro division) to SST classes are not required to have Improved stock clutch guard or tunnel enclosure and must meet ISR stock filed weight rules for make and model of sled.
For the first time, NEGDS & ESP are introducing four Amateur Super Stock Twin classes for twin cylinder sleds. This class will follow regular amateur based rules. 600, 700, 800 and 1000 classes must adhere to the following rules:
