cedar falls sno hawks awarded at issa convention

At the Iowa State Snowmobile Association Convention last month there seemed to be one club that stood out. The Cedar Falls Sno Hawks took home a handful of honors including Club of the Year and top fundraiser for the ISSA official charity, plus the activity director was named Snowmobiler of the Year and one of the club's families earned Snowmobile Family of the Year.

With all of these awards, the club is most proud of their charitable contributions, and 2003 marks the second year that the club has been honored for their work with the Spina Bifida Association of Iowa. Club donations included thousands of dollars in the form of special equipment and cash. The club also "adopted" a number of children, providing them with direct support and attention.

The Sno Hawks received international recognition for their charity work in 1990 at the International Snowmobile Congress in Vancouver, British Columbia. They were awarded the National Snowmobile Foundation Special Achievement Award, the nation's highest honor for charitable activities of snowmobile clubs.
