You've just gotta love the Arctic Cat 440 SnoPro. Like most of Arctic's high performance line-up, the 440 hangs its hat on its class leading power-to-weight ratio.

Throughout the years the 440 has consistently carried incredible riders like the Hibberts, Crapos and more to victory.

At first glance, the sled doesn't seem to have changed that much in the last couple years, but Cat engineers have constantly been making alterations each season to make this sled more than just competitive.

Insides upgraded

The guts of the new 440 got several updates this year. Intake flanges have been revised and engineers added V-force reeds and a new boost bottle. Also on Cat's docket are several new TEAM Industries parts, including a new slip gear and new driven clutch. They're hopeful this partnership pays off for Arctic racers as the guys at TEAM really know racing.

To reduce engine movement, Cat installed a plate brace. This should save motor mounts and improve clutch alignment too. Also a new chain tension pad reduces the amount of pad wear.
Finally, a different muffler exhaust outlet will keep riders from experiencing engine bog when they land hard and compress the sled to the snow.

Stronger,more comfortable

Racers can't win if they're not happy on the machine. To make riders more comfortable, an adjustable steering post with three position options has been added. Two of the positions are more rider forward for racing applications.

In the front suspension, Cat added new Fox Float shocks with a larger, higher air-pressured chamber and new valving codes to cushion the rider. These shocks have a deeper stroke that allows the rider to use more of the available travel.

Rear suspension changes include the separation of the front and rear arm shocks and compression adjustability to dial in softness and anti-bottoming. The front arm shock has position-sensitive valving and the rear arm shock has rebound adjustability as well.

To make the new 440 SnoPro stronger, Cat used robust extrusion for the spindles and added front end steering support down tubes to cut flexing. The steering system also has been given a boost with the addition of a new center link that should keep ski alignment steady.

Finally, A-arm strength was increased with a cross-brace that's also designed to help quell front end flexing.
