Camoplast recently announced that it will begin production of a monstrous new 159" mountain track. The Canadian company recently added a machine to its production facility to allow it to produce the longest rug available. The new track will be available in the two-inch Challenger staggered lug design (P/N 679-9884), along with an aggressive 2.25" finger track (P/N 679-9885).
In addition to these two tracks, Camoplast is also releasing a new 2-inch multi-height finger track in 144- (P/N 679-9889) 151- (P/N 679-9890) and 159- (P/N 679-9891) inch lengths.
For the snocross (P/N 700-9900) and hillcross (P/N 700-9901) crowd, Camoplast has a pair of new Predator racing tracks. The new pieces combine the soft snow traction of the closed paddle track with the bite of the finger tracks. The new predators measure 14 inches wide, with 1.5" lugs on the outside and 1.375" and 1.25" fingers down the center. This configuration is said to improve track speed.
Camoplast also uses its new slippery rubber technology on the inside of the track, allowing for a clip on every third window. The new material is touted as reducing friction and rolling resistance. The 121" Predator is ISR listed as an optional track for Polaris stock race sleds as well as any open class sled.
The final track Camoplast announced is nearing the end of development: a totally clipless Predator track. The 1" 690-9855S uses the same lug pattern as the 9855. Camoplast claims that it has found it to be 2 mph faster in the field, with a 2 hp savings at top speed. Also, it boasts a 10% savings in fuel consumption, thanks to the efficiency.
