There were 18 teams of two that left the starting line at the White Wolf Snowmobile Club in Labrador City, NL, on March 10th for the Cain's Quest Snowmobile Endurance Race, but not all of them would make it to the finish line. Mechanical problems caused 9 teams to drop out of the endurance race.
Teams traveled upwards of 2,000 km across some of the most rugged and challenging terrain Labrador has to offer. Because of the treacherous terrain, some teams realized that they would have to work together to get through. With this in mind, the three leaders in the latter portion of the final leg decided that to endure the challenge together, they would finish the challenge together. This sentiment was echoed by another group of teams to follow and in a surprise finish, 1st place and 3rd place resulted in three way ties.
