Other PPP Innovations
PPP's new species of mountaineering sled is just one of their many innovations. They also specialize in trail-porting, which changes the duration cylinder ports remain open. Trail porting is done on Polaris' Fuji as well as the Rotax mill. Specific to the Rotax, PPP also displays its expertise in tunnel porting. In all, trail- and/or tunnel-porting produces an estimated 10 to 15 percent increase in horsepower.
Also on the PPP menu is crankshaft re-building. Using their self-designed, high-tech tools, PPP holds the crankshaft in alignment during the critical assembly process. This greatly reduces shock and vibration and provides a better rotated crankshaft that will wear the magneto and clutch less.
Another PPP first is its aftermarket muffler canister, for snowmobilers frustrated with peak-tuned exhaust motors. Jetting and clutch tuning can be problematic when temperatures and elevations constantly change, and heat buildup under the hood snuffs out oxygen. The muffler canister solves these problems. Plus it's lightweight and increases horsepower by as much as five to seven horses. Precision Performance Products, 2199 N. Woodruff, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83401 • 208/522-0480.
