breaking news yellowstone meeting adjourns with hope for sledders

The National Park Service held their meeting with the cooperators today to reveal the direction they are taking as a result of the SEIS and all of the comments.
As you may know, there were just over 300,000 comments received. About 65,000 of them were pro-snowmobile comments.
At any rate, it appears from the framework they laid out just a couple of hours ago, that snowmobiles do have a future in Yellowstone!!
While nothing is definite at this point, it appears they are looking for a shared stewardship between Bison and Best Technology Available Snowmobiles.
There will be strict limits, probably somewhere between Alternatives 2 and 3. Commercial guides will get the bulk of the traffic, but there will be some percentage of public sleds also allowed.
It also looks like it will be a full season like we have been operating under for the last few years, with a reasonable phase-in for the new rules.
Please keep in mind that the devil is in the details… but at first glance this is pretty darn good! Especially since the comments were 4 to 1 against us.
