SO WHY put a Boss seat on a trail sled? One big reason, weight loss. Jim Athelery from Boss sent us a Highrise seat with custom embroidered Arctic Cat logo for our CFR 800. We independently weighed the seat at only 5.6 lbs. compared with our stock seat which was more than 14 lbs.

Racers of all kinds are always looking to shave weight and this is one of the easiest ways there is. The Boss seat also offers plenty of storage in its zippered storage area in back too, and it's easy to get to. You can store a spare belt, tool kit, hat, maps and more! The seat is incredibly easy to install as well, just remove your old seat, thoroughly clean your tunnel, attach the accompanying Velcro strips to the tunnel, drill holes for the side-tunnel snaps, and put the seat on.

It's important to note that the foam in the Boss seat is much stiffer than the stock seat. It also sits the rider about 3 inches higher. This changes the dynamics of the sled greatly as it becomes a more stand-up friendly machine. However, shock and spring changes will be needed for the majority of riders as they will find the ride too stiff on the more rigid Boss seat.
This seat is not for the Sunday driver. Aggressive riders who like to be up on the tank and want a "racer" look will enjoy this state-of-the-art seat. Just add a new riser block, and some snocross bars and you're there.

In addition, these seats do not retain water like many stock seats do. According to BOSS, its seat's vent system allows the seat to breathe and its patented foam structure uses close-celled foam that is 100% resistant to water retention. The seat's top layer also is just sticky enough to hold you in your desired position, but not so sticky that you can't move around on it.

Finally at $543 MSRP, these seats are not cheap, but if you want the most technologically superior snowmobile seat on the planet, this is it!
