A.D. Boivin, the Quebec-based maker of the Snow Hawk, will run its unique snow bike concept in select World Snowmobile Association (WSA) events.
According to WSA officials, the new "Snow Bike" racing class will debut nationwide at the Arctic Cat Deadwood (South Dakota) Shootout on January 5-6, 2001. WSA officials anticipate it to be a real crowd pleaser.

This will be the first-ever event featuring the Snow Hawk in direct competition. "It's what we've been working so hard to achieve," said Rob Pilgrim, A.D. Boivin's racing director. "The Snow Hawks will be ready to go. We have six motocross racers fired up to run them. It will be a great opportunity to demonstrate the agility and aerial capabilities of the 'Hawk. We're all really hyped for the event and it's going to be a lot of fun to watch."

Well known watercraft, motocross and snocross competitors Quilt Racing - Vig Motorsports out of Shakopee, MN will be running five of the Snow Hawks, with one other being supplied as a factory effort. "This vehicle was made for snocross competition", says Rob Schatzle, Quilt Racing's Team Manager.

"Since the moment we first saw the vehicle, we knew we had to be the first ones to race it. Competition will be fierce and I think spectators will be very impressed."

"We've worked hard to make the WSA a sanctioning body that thinks outside the envelope when it comes time to envision ways of putting on a great show for our fans and our partners," according to WSA President Joe Duncan. "That's why we're excited to have been able to put this together with A.D. Boivin, and be the exclusive series to feature Snow Hawk racing."
