back injury forces team arctics shaun crapo to call it a season

Team Arctic sadly announced today that their snocross front runner - Shaun Crapo, of St. Anthony, Idaho is forced to call an end to his highly successful season due to back problems.

"It's been hurting for most of the season, but up until now it wasn't anything that I couldn't live with and it wasn't affecting me, said Shaun Crapo." "But for the past couple of weeks it has been constant pain."

After consulting a neurosurgeon specialist out of Salt Lake City today and undergoing an MRI, it was discovered that Shaun is suffering from a ruptured disc leaving him with the decision to let it rest for some time or to undergo surgery and remove the disc. Opting for the corrective surgery, recovery time for Shaun will be roughly two months, at which time he'll be able to get back to his workout regimen and get back to light practice riding.

"This entire ordeal hasn't really set in yet. Things have been going extremely well for me this season. I'm disappointed to say the least, but you can count on me getting back in the saddle next season, said Shaun."

"Shaun has had a remarkable year," said Team Arctic Race Manager, Brian Sturgeon. "We're very proud of the accomplishments he's made all season long. Himself and Blair Morgan are currently tied for 1st place in the WSA high points race in Pro Stock and in Pro Open he's just 67 points behind the leader in 10th place. Everyone at Arctic Cat wishes him a healthy recovery and can't wait for him to start a new season."

For the upcoming, highly televised X-Games in Aspen, Colorado this weekend, Team Arctic plans to have Karl Allard of St. Felicien, Quebec take over as replacement pilot on Shaun Crapo's Arctic Cat Sno Pro.
