asphalt draggers travel long distances

Adam Fricke, driver of Don Rastovski's Ski-Doo FIII, was the All Motor winner at the recent 2007 ProSled Shoot-Out at Esta Dragstrip in Cicero, N.Y. Don and Adam hail from Demotte, Ind., and drove several hundred miles to attend the New York event.

You may remember Adam as the winner of the 2006 AmSnow Super Sled Shoot-Out in Martin, Mich. Bellman Racing sponsored Adam and Don to make the 12-hour trip from DeMotte to New York. Their attendance at the race was meant to encourage other asphalt racers to support asphalt races such as the ProSled Shoot-Out race at Esta as well as the AmSnow Super Sled Shoot-Out in Martin, Mich., on Sept. 22 and 23 - with a test 'n tune the night of Sept. 21.

There were close to 160 entries at the New York event, with many racers being first-time participants. There were plenty of spectators there as well watching these big sleds post some fast times.

Adam and Don's sled is a 1999 Ski-Doo, powered by a Crank Shop 1500cc engine, and it had the best ET of 8.39 seconds at 156.8 mph. The pair of racers knows that competition will be fierce at the upcoming AmSnow Shoot-Out and they look forward to competing against their east coast sled brethren again.

Sled sponsors include: Bellman Racing, The Crank Shop, Pro-Line Performance, Wahl Bros. Racing and Torco Fuels.
