Ski-Doo Grip Warmers and Switches
Q: I have a 2004 Ski-Doo 600 SDI and both grips are giving me problems. Illumination in the switches flickers off and on. The left grip wires leads both read 14 volts on low and high settings. The right grip leads read 7 and 14 on low, and 14 and 14 on high range. However, I have nothing on the right grip either way and that grip is brand new! That switch is $250 and that new grip was $35! I’ve got to get this right and stop my wallet from bleeding. –

A: You can remove the hand warmer leads from the plugs and use a battery charger or a 12v battery to test the hand warmer elements. It is not unheard of to get a bad part right out of the box. My best advice on the Ski-Doo 600 SDI sleds of all years is to replace the load relays in the fuse box if they haven’t been replaced. Those relays control most, or all, of the electrical functions on that model. –
