Q:I have a 2007 RMK 155 stock 600 H.O. I live in Michigan now, this sled has less than 500 miles on it, but they were hard miles. I have been having problems with bent rails/sliders. They are all aluminum and all of the suspension is stock. Mostly it happens when landing a jump on the tail of the sled. I have replaced 3 sets of stock rails, which even on small jumps seem to bend. Is there something aftermarket I can buy that is stronger? Has anyone else seen this? In Wyoming I rode the same way and many times in low snow conditions. I like to jump, but don't always land well, but I still never bent a single set while I was out west. I've looked for steel rails or other stronger rails, but can't find any. Am I just missing something? - RMK Ridder

A:I don't know of any rails that are significantly stronger than the stock ones. Depending on where you are bending them, you may be able to add a support to the rail to strengthen it. I know some of the hillclimb racers have done this. It's rare that we bend a set of rails, unless we are landing wrong, on icy or rocky surfaces. If your suspension is set wrong for your body weight (either too soft or too stiff) this could possibly add to the propensity to bend a rail, especially if you land wrong. We would suggest re-setting your suspension and/or getting some rail supports. - Jerry Matthews, Starting Line Products Inc.
