arctic cat announces recall

Arctic Cat and the Consumer Products Safety Commission have announced a voluntary recall on roughly 45,000 model year 2002 250, 300, 300 Massey Ferguson, 375, 400, 400i, 500, TX 500 and 500i ATVs. The ball joints on the front suspensions can fail, causing loss of control.

Cat has received a total of 73 reports of the failure, with 10 resulting in injury to the driver.

Registered owners have already been notified by mail. To determine if your 2002 ATV falls within the scope of this recall if you are not a registered owner or bought the ATV from a private party, call Arctic Cat at 800/210-5941 between 8 am and 5 pm CT. Have the model name and 13-digit VIN on hand when you call.
