This time it's Yamaha sleds featured in the latest snowmobile racing video game. It is called Sno-Cross Championship Racing, and will be available for Playstation and PC formats this fall, and Dreamcast by the holiday season.
It offers extreme sled racing in three different leagues across the world in Russia, Aspen Colorado, Japan and Sweden. There are several racing locations, with different weather and time of day settings.
You'll start by racing a 500cc sled and work your way up to Yamaha's big guns. If you crash, you'll have to repair your sled between races. Players will be able to blow out their engines and even break skis. You'll see the hood of the sled fly off when you bash into walls. In order to fix the damage, you'll will have to use your winnings. Race against time, race against other sleds, race in a Championship or try your hand at hill climbing.
One interesting feature of the game is the track editor. By using puzzle pieces, players can build their own tracks. If you wanted to race on a course with big jumps and loops then you can. You can pick the environments, weather, and even the time of year the race is held in. Once you have made a track, you can save it to a gamecard and race friends on it.
The Dreamcast version will include some additional perks like a North Pole track, an Alaska track and one based in downtown Manhattan.
