amsnows editor receives eagle media award

 With nearly 40 years participation in snowmobiling, American Snowmobiler Magazine and AmSnow Online founder/editor, Jerry Bassett, has been recognized by his peers for his many years of insightful reporting about the sport. Today Bassett was presented with the "Eagle Media Award" on behalf of the Eagle River Derby Track.

On hand to make the presentation was Richard Decker, a member of the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame, and long time Derby participant.
The annual Eagle Awards are presented to deserving individuals throughout the sport for their contributions. Bassett received the award for: "… In depth and perceptive reporting of all aspects of snowmobiling and the Derby event in particular."

"I am really touched by this award," said Bassett as he accepted the award from Derby Track official Dick Decker. "The Derby has been the premier event in snowmobiling for decades and the Derby track in recent years has become even more important to the heritage of our sport through events like the annual 'Reunion' as well as the annual racing events for which the track was first known.

"I am very honored and very proud to accept this award on behalf of the staff of American Snowmobiler and AmSnow Online."
