American Mobile Vehicles Inc.'s Snow Mite
This sled was available in two models. It was available in "kit' form that you assemble yourself using your own engine and clutch from your Mini-bike, go cart or lawn mower. If you so desire the sled could be purchased fully assembled and ready to roll. In kit form the Snow Mite has a welded steel body, molded rubber track, fiberglass cowl, leaf springs, steel skis, foam seat and heavy duty drive sprockets and a bogie suspension system. This model is 54 inches long, 20 inches high, 20 inches wide and weighs 65 pounds. The engine is three horsepower and speeds of 15 mph are claimed. Selling price was set at $229 dollars.
The larger Super Savage is a fully assembled model of similar construction but is fitted with a HS-40 Tecumseh engine of four horsepower. It also has a Salsbury torque converter, head lamp, tail lamp, battery case and brake. The Savage is 61 inches long, 26 inches high, 24 inches wide and weighs 108 pounds. Price for this model was listed at $395 dollars.
