alaska ski snowmobiles
Amsnow
The Alaska Ski snowmobile was built in the late 1960s by SMT Manufactures of Chateaugway, Quebec, Canada. This brand offered several models: the Broncco, the Deluxe, the Super Sport, the Hornet and the TT. Guidetti engines powered this lineup and SMT was the only sled manufacturer to use the Guidetti engine.
These sleds were identical to many other manufacturer's models. The track, transmission and suspension were all of conventional design.
It had so much in common with other sleds of its time that it's believed this brand may have been built under more than one nameplate. This line was on the snow until 1971 when the smaller snowmobile manufacturers were weeded out because they could not keep up with the larger companies.
