On Sunday June 24th, Alaska Raceway Park hosted the first annual Extreme Machine Asphalt Sled Event, as well as a full points day. Snowmachines from all over Alaska showed up to compete in the event, but racer Chris Vandenberg of Wasilla, AK managed to keep his title as fastest sled in the state with a 10.42 second pass at 121.33 mph on his Polaris XCR. David Bogert of Big Lake was the runner up in the event, with a 10.89 second pass at 112.38 mph on his Polaris. Vandenberg also went on to compete in the Snowmachine Bracket race that day, and took first in that as well.
