Crossover: Cat divides this popular long-track segment into five categories.

Trail models are designated as the XF 7000, 8000 and 9000 LXR. New in the segment is the Yamaha engine in the 7000, plus that model gets the new gauge pod. But all models get a new 15x137x1.25-inch RipSaw II track that Cat says works better on groomed trails. These XF models get all the other ProCross changes standard across the lineup, new seat, race brake, driven clutch sheave, etc.

In the enduro-venture crossover segment, Cat comes with its longer 141-inch tracks for the XF 7000, 8000 and 9000 CrossTours that features a metal rack in back. Again, the 7000 gets the Yamaha engine and new gauge pod.

The Trail/Aggressive sled group includes the XF 7000, 8000 and 9000 Sno Pro and Limited models. These also have the 15x137x1.25-inch RipSaw II track and all the other XF changes.

The on/off trail crossover category that spends a little more time boondocking is known as the XF 7000, 8000, and 9000 Cross Country this year. In addition to the engines and changes the other XF models receive, these get new Gen2 FOX Float 2 ski shocks. A plus is easier access to the air valves for making pressure adjustments.

Cat’s Off Trail crossovers are High Country models, with just the 8000 and 9000 engine choices. These are available in regular or Limited models.
