AmSnow.com is now SnoWest.com
In addition, after about 6,000 miles, most traditional 2-strokes are teetering on the verge of some semi-major engine work and therefore more cost. Not so with the ACE. As we’ve said in other articles, “the real positives to owning a 4-stroke are the longevity of the engine and overall lower maintenance and superior reliability.” Oh and the ACE is more environmentally friendly, easier to use, and has a stronger, more consistent power band than the 550 fans. This is technology working for us!
We are also our own worst enemy because we constantly talk about big power, top speed, and extreme performance. What about just having fun on a lightweight, highly maneuverable, trail- friendly machine?
Many of us often forget our roots of whipping around the woods on our old 340s and the incredible times we had when we were younger and riding smaller sleds. This machine will take you back to those days. The highly capable SC-5 rear suspension with Motion Control gas shocks eats up the stutter bumps and the eDrive primary clutch works in extremely smooth harmony with the QRS secondary.
Silky smooth trail handling is what you get with this XP chassis and Pilot 5.7 skis. Feel free to drift the corners with the smaller 1-inch lugs on the track and don’t be ashamed if you get a big grin on your face while tossing this thing through the tightest trails in the northwoods. That’s what this one is made for!
Do your thing
We totally understand that the ACE is not for everyone, we just want people to get their max enjoyment out of snowmobiling and to “do your thing,” whatever that may be. We just know how much fun we’ve had for a couple seasons now testing the Sport 600 ACE.
Some other things to keep in mind … the ACE 4-stroke is about 30 lbs. heavier than the 550 fan from Ski-Doo. They are both still extremely light and the powerband has much better, consistent torque on the ACE. In addition, this sled does not have the new REV XS body panels and upgrades (yet). It’s still wearing the REV XP skin.
