The Tesoro Iron Dog race is known as the longest, toughest snowmobile race in the world, and for good reason. Would you want to be going 100 mph in -60 degree weather through the Alaskan wilderness? The winning team, consisting of Todd Palin (the Govenor of Alaska's husband) and Scott Davis, came through in 38 hours, 7 minutes and 57 seconds. Try to beat that!
The sled of choice? Arctic Cat's F6. Davis had this to say about the sled: "The ride is superior and takes so little effort. You can ride for 300 miles and not even feel it; there's much less fatigue. I'm 47, and I was able to go hard because the ride's so comfortable." Arctic Cat's have dominated the Iron Dog since 1993.
This is Davis' 7th Iron Dog title, and Palin's 4th, as they avenged their loss last year. They had lost by only 1 second last year!
