2004 skidoo rev 800 ho

Amsnow
The SDI version from 2003 held its torque in the 90s from 6800 revs past its horsepower peak at 7700 rpm. Obviously if you use your rump as a power indicator, the chances are very good that it will prefer the more precise snap in and out of corners from an injected Rotax. If your senses prefer seeing miles per hour creep up into the higher readings on your speedometer, the carb version and greater horsepower will suffice nicely.

Dyno testing shows that the injected engine is likely more fuel-efficient as it burns better, leading to increases in torque. Ski-Doo engineers claim that the SDI is supposed to be more fuel efficient- providing cleaner emissions and better fuel mileage. This testing would seem to indicate that Ski-Doo's claim is based on merit.

Bottom line:
The choice is yours as Ski-Doo offers both an SDI and HO version in the 800 and 600 displacement categories. You enjoy a bit more power and get a nice fat torque curve to clutch around in the REV 800 HO. And, longer legs for wide open running. We still like the SDI better, but then we prefer to ride and let you carburetor fanatics tinker. It's your choice.
