The Test Results
Our crew thought the SKS was a very good machine. Though it didn't receive a lot of first place ratings in the Hybrids class, it showed that consistent capabilities can garner a second-place rank.

In Ride and Comfort, the SKS 700 received strong second votes in noise, vibration, steering and wind protection. "The SKS showed itself to be a very comfortable sled to ride on the trails," said Jerry. "The longer track and rail length bridged those stutter bumps, virtually eliminating them. Polaris also did a nice job with the windshield, making it stylish and functional."

The 700cc Liberty engine proved to be the sled's strong suit. The SKS nabbed the top rating in the class for engine/ clutch response as well as throttle response. Our test unit was very well calibrated for the conditions.

Our crew didn't care for the ergonomics of the SKS. "The seat seemed low and the handlebars too tall for a full day's ride," noted Test Rider Randy Kepner. "There is probably a setup available that fits better, but as it is now, I don't care for it." We had the full riser blocks in place on our test unit. Polaris does offer different height blocks through its parts catalog.

In the sled appeal consideration, the SKS pulled a solid second. Our crew said the graphics package and paint scheme were very good.

Polaris gave a few nice finishing touches to the SKS, like the color matched gas can rack on the tunnel extension, the mountain grab bar and the handlebar hooks.
