2003 arctic cat mountain cat production changes

Amsnow
Arctic Cat made a handful of changes to its 1M Mountain Cats just before the production lines begin to roll. Here is a brief outline of the updates, as we know them:

1. Drop & Roll Chain Case Protection Guard (Production Change)
Provides added chain case protection against hidden objects beneath the snow. Made of high density, impact-resistant plastic for worry free operation in different types of terrain.

Also, Arctic Cat announced earlier this summer that the chaincase will be made of aluminum, not composite as it had indicated during the winter previews. Cat says the change is the result of vendor quality issues.

2. Exhaust Pipe Protection Shield (Production Change)
Aluminum shield provides added protection for exhaust pipe protrusion beneath belly pan.

3. Notchless track (MC 800 and 900) (Production Change)
Full-paddle patterns on the Mountain Cat 800 and 900 provide for maximum traction.

4. Tunnel cooler repositioning.
Repositioned to the corner of the tunnel vs. the middle, the new cooler position now accommodates a new notchless track.

5. Quick-adjust limiter strap
Easily and quickly allows riders to adjust the correct amount of ski pressure to match the given terrain.

6. ACT (Arctic Cat Technology) aluminum-bodied gas shocks (MC 800 & 900)
Found on all Mountain Cat's in 2003, the aluminum-bodied gas shocks provide substantial weight loss over the traditional steel-bodied shocks.

7. Smaller, redesigned airbox (MC 800 and 900)
Smaller airbox provides for substantial weight loss and user-friendly access when jetting.
