Cat added a specially-designed hooked handlebar to the ZL line this year. It's not as aggressively curved as the ZR bar, but offers a nice ergonomic bend for alternate grips on long rides.

Also coming over to the sport cruisers this winter are the ZR-style adjustable foot holds. Now small footed riders can get a grip in the corners as well as bigger-booted folks.

Our test crew thought the ZL 600 EFI esr SS was up to the challenge of matching is impressive name. "This is a great sled," said Test Rider Steve Ingram. "I like the remote clicker. It's a cool little addition and really fun to hit the button when someone walks by. I also think that automatic rear suspension does what it is supposed to do. I didn't expect a suspension as soft as that in the small chatter bumps to be able to handle the deeper holes on our trail ride. But it did."
