600 LX less-thansThere were a couple things on the LX that were less than perfect, naturally. While many may like mirrors on a luxury sled, these mounts were flimsy and their placement is such that it's just a matter of time until they break off.
Also, the 600 CFI 2-stroke engine is not breaking any MPG records and if you want to be competitive in the luxury or cruiser market a sled should be able to regularly achieve 12 mpg. In our experience, the 600 LX cannot. But the LX is more than $2 grand less than the Yamaha LTX, so it comes down to an issue of paying up front, or for gas and oil as you go.
Finally, the 1-inch lugged track is fine for most trail riding, but really doesn't dig like a 1.25-incher. There's still plenty of grab because the footprint is big, but we would suggest throwing a small trail-stud package on this one or a larger lugged 1.25-inch track.
