1993 indy xcr the one to beat

When it comes to racing, especially in the rough world of cross country competition, Polaris has proven exceptionally tough to beat. This season the competition has aimed its sights at the very successful Indy XCR. This 440cc engined stock racer/trail sportster carried the first two dozen Polaris independent racers across the finish line of the grueling International 500 race between St. Paul, Minnesota and Thunder Bay, Ontario. In other racing venues, the XCR has proven to be equally as adept-and unbeatable. The success of the XCR is a major reason Cat built the new 440ZR series. Look for the new XLT Specials to be major competitors in racing this season as well.

At Polaris, though, the race support program isn't built around a few factory racers, it's designed to foster and encourage competition at both the "grass roots" amateur level and the highly competitive "professional" levels of racing. State Polaris racing officials, "Through its support of racers, Polaris encourages competitive participation in snowmobiling and underlines the company's commitment for the long run."

That long run has been a winning one.
