Pint size HawksWith two new smaller birds in Snow Hawk's squadron, a family can enjoy these machines together. The two new midget machines are great stepping-stones for smaller pilots. I rode both, and had a blast.
The 60cc machine isn't quite large enough for a full-size person to really have fun on, but the 14 hp 120cc option is an absolute riot, especially on a small, banked track like our test area.
The 120 rides much like the pit bikes that have recently become popular among motocrossers. A group of 120cc Hawks could entertain an entire crew of friends for a weekend in a backyard or the back forty.
DebriefingAfter taking several high speed passes on the trail with the new Top Gun and buzzing around the track with the smaller Snow Hawks, I realized just how much fun a family could have on these sleds. If your kids are summer dirt bike riders, the 60 and 120 machines are a natural fit. They're solid, low maintenance machines with simple Raket 1 cylinder 2-stroke fan-cooled engines. The best part is that your kids can have hours of fun with these without leaving the backyard.
If you're looking at the full-size Top Gun and you haven't ridden motorcycles or stand-up jet-skis, it may take a while to feel comfortable.
But once you do, you should be able to keep pace on the trail with any 600cc sleds. As soon as you travel off-trail, it's no longer a debate. The Snow Hawk is a better climber and deep snow machine than any non-mountain sled.
