I suggest staying at the Mineral River Lodge in White Pine. It's actually not to far from Ontonogan. And the Porky mnts. have some of the best boonedocking in the UP. It's kinda back out of the way of everything. My buddy owns this place. Just opened it last year. It is setup to accommodate sledder's. I say, help out a new guy who's trying to help the snowmobile culture in the UP.

You won't regret it. Don't get me wrong, it's not a 5 star hotel. It's a place for sledder's to stay.
