That is a WIDE range of altitudes..you will have to play around with whats best..but from the SLP tuning sheet for an 06 900, SLP reccommends the following..

0-3000'
SLP Blue/Pink Primary Spring
SLP 77g MTX Weights WITH 1g in outter hole

3000-6000'
SLP Blue/Pink Primary Spring
SLP 74g MTX Weights WITH 2g in inner hole AND 2g in outter hole

6000-8000'
SLP Blue/Pink Primary Spring
SLP 74g MTX Wieght WITH 3g in outter hole

in your secondary..66/44.46 helix with red/pink, OR red/black, OR black/white WITH 2 Derlin Washers...and FLOAT your secondary 1/4" MAX on a greased shaft..

Hope that helps

A guy I know just bought an '05 900 RMK 151". Has SLP pipe, airbox(not sure who's airbox), vents(again not sure who's). All updates are done. Rider is about 210 pounds or so, not a big hill climber or anything like that, just trail riding and some general off trail riding as well.

He would be riding at 1500 ft.(here in SD, flatlands), the Black Hills(4-7K feet) and possibly the Bighorn mountains as well(7-10K feet). I'm looking for clutching setups for these elevations. He's not much of a clutch guy so if possible something where he'd only have to change the weights would be a plus. As long as it doesn't blow belts and the performance is good, that's good enough, not looking to get every inch out of her.

Seems like the black/red and 66/44.46 helix are pretty much unanimous among 900 riders? What about the primary?

Is the 115 belt mandatory on these sleds or can you get by with the 080? I don't think he's gonna be happy when I tell him belts are $150 each.:face-icon-small-sho

Thanks

I have an 05 900 RMK fresh from balancing by IndyDan. I run at 1400 ft elevation. I have an SLP single with MBRP can and Fire-n-Ice intake. Vents galore and lots of weight-loss action. I have the stock Drive and a tss-004 Driven. Gearing will be 18/40 with stock drivers.

I don't know what is in it or how long they have been there.
I am looking to get all new weights and springs.

I do mostly back country riding with some trail. Some climbing but mostly just large hills and some cliffs.

I am gonna get the 66/44.46 like stated above for the secondary but what spring?

Also where to buy. I know its a lot to ask but looking here doesnt tell me much for an 05.

THANK YOU!!!!!

Hello guys.
I need some help whit re weighting my clutch now when im running a dynoport pipe, im pulling 7750-7850 with 11-76 weights and slp blue/pink spring(im riding 0-3000') i was thinking of using something like 10-76 or MTX 77g...will either of those be heavy enough to lower the rpm to 7400-7500?
06 900 159"
